The Missouri legislature is currently considering multiple bills that could impact the Prevailing Wage Law, with the bills ranging from repealing Prevailing Wage altogether to making modifications such as exempting school districts, public works projects, third/fourth class counties, and maintenance projects.
Now is the time to contact your legislators to explain why Prevailing Wage is not simply a labor union issue, but has a real impact on the success of local businesses, and on the livelihoods of Missouri workers.
Missouri’s Prevailing Wage Law gives local construction contractors a fair competitive position, while eliminating or restricting this law would create a competitive advantage for unscrupulous contractors using less-skilled, and often out-of-state, workers.
